DIY Easy 3D Canvas Art

You think you need to be an expert artist to create amazing art? If yes, then think again! In this tutorial, I will show you how to create 3D canvas art without getting a degree from art school. Let's begin.

Things you'll need:

Canvas.
Glue Gun.
Glue sticks (a lot, also depends on the size and design of your artwork).
Spray paint or paint.
Pencil.

Directions:

Step 1:
Start by cleaning your canvas with a dry cloth to remove any dirt. (This step may not be required).

Step 2:
Choose your design.

Step 3:
Draw or trace your desired design on the canvas using a pencil. I skipped this step as my design was simple. However, it is better to do this to make sure you get straight and neat lines.

Step 4:
Plug in your glue gun and let it heat up.

Step 5:
With your glue gun, draw on top of the pencil lines. Take your time with this step. Make sure you have a stable hand (rest your wrist on the canvas/table). Children must get an adult to do this step.
You will need more than one glue sticks, be sure to add new ones from the back of the glue gun before the existing one is completely used up.

-Glue gun must be used with caution as it can burn your skin if used carelessly.

Step 6:
Once you have drawn your pattern with the glue gun, let it dry completely. Leave it to dry for 5-10 minutes.

Step 7:
Now it's time to spray paint your artwork. Place your canvas on top of some newspapers to avoid getting paint on the floor. Make sure you do this step outside, as spray paint contains harmful fumes. It takes a two days for the fumes to get out of a closed space (learn from my mistake guys), that is why it's better to do this outside. I am using silver spray paint, you can use any color you want or even two or more colors.

Step 8:
Spray a thin layer of paint on the canvas. Don't worry about it not being even. Remember not to do it all in one layer as that causes thick and dripping paint. Spray paint the sides of the canvas as well, to get that neat look. Let the first layer of paint dry for at least 15 minutes.

Step 9:
After the first layer of paint is dry, spray a second layer of paint. Again, do not spray a thick layer. Let it dry for 15 minutes.

Step 10:
If the spray paint is uneven, you may need to spray a third layer. I did not spray a third layer because I wanted to get a textured look.

Step 11:
Once all the paint is dry, remove any thin glue lines using a dry paintbrush. It will make the artwork look neater than before. You can also do this step before applying spray paint.

Step 12:
You are done! Hang your artwork on your desired wall and spice up your place.
